Sunday Scaries? The Harmony crew doesn’t suffer from those. We’re changing the narrative and making Mondays cool again. Instead of dreading them, we’re looking forward to them. Because the whole team has every Monday off, we can all adventure together. So here is a little taste of what we’ve been up to.
QUAD DRIVING, CHEESE TASTING & PSATHI BEACH
Trust me, Ios is soooo much more than just nights out and beach parties. Don’t get me wrong, they are super fun too but we try to explore the island beyond Chora and Mylopotas. The team decided to have an early night (shocker) so we can seize the day, rent quads and explore the island. First stop was Diaseli, a traditional cheesery built at the highest point of Ios next to the family farm. We were offered a guided tour of the traditional factory and the experience ended with us trying 8 different types of handmade cheese and products on-site. Afterwards, it was time to head to Psathi beach. On the way to the beach we enjoyed the best views of the coastline. The beach is non- organized and we had the whole place for ourselves -except maybe two sheeps nearby.
FLAT ROCK & CLIFF JUMPING
Mylopotas beach is famous for its beach resorts, water sports and restaurants and constant bustle. However, there are still some hidden secluded gems nearby. One of them is ‘Flat Rock’. At the end of the road past Far out, you arrive at a dirt road and embark on a 20 minute walk up and down the beautiful hills and landscapes of Ios. It’s an unspoiled paradise, and it’s worth getting lost in order to find it! Don’t forget to bring snacks, water and towels with you. With several rocks to jump off, beware of the sharp rocks that might leave your legs a bit scratched! Just perfect for the adventurous souls out there.
BOAT CRUISE/PARTY
I wish I could have boat-tled up this day (heh get it?).
We chose to do the “Best of the beaches” boat tour with Meltemi Watersports. The duration of the tour was about 4 hours and it started at 4pm so that meant we would get some stunning sunset views.
Yes baby! 4 boats full of island staff later, we were ready to discover parts of the island and beaches that are not accessible by car or foot. Crystal clear blue waters, immaculate vibes, good tunes, breezers, backflips, snorkelling, plenty of awesome photo opps. Soaking up the Aegean Sea and the endless blue sea while the wind is hitting your face and making you feel so alive and present.
B-DAY CELEBRATION & PINIATA
We take birthday celebrations very seriously here, even though you don’t really need an occasion to party in Ios. But when you have a manager like Dani whose energy and smile warms your heart, you want to do something extra special. So we arranged a surprise birthday party that included a piñata and lots and lots of singing in many different languages. After all, we are an international crew.🇮🇪🇬🇷🇦🇱🇷🇴🇬🇧🇦🇺🇿🇦
Cherishing every moment, not taking a moment for granted as these are “the good old days “. One day we will look back and hope we could rewind time just so we can feel and relive these emotions and experiences for the first time again
